All around the WWW

World Wide Web isn’t a phrase you hear bandied about much this days. Being vocally lazy, most of us just call it “the web” or “the net”. I have to share a bit of Google research with you: Did you realize that the internet has only been available to the general public since the early 90’s and search engines since the mid 90’s? Holy cow! How DID we manage?! Anyway, I just wanted to share how pleased I am that this blog is getting some really nice exposure around the WWW-thanks largely in part to Maryam’s very cool post about our upcoming project at Peacock Pavilions. Maryam is quite the blog star (deservadly so!) and some of the images from her post got picked up here and here. The latter one is in French, no less. Ooh la la! Thank you Maryam, for letting me hang on to your lovely coattails a bit!

As any blogger knows, the key to getting people to actually drop by “your place” in this vast web universe is to be fortunate to have people that link to you through their blogs, either through post links or blogrolls. Besides Maryam, here are some recent incoming links from some REALLY nice blogs that are showing up on my dashboard. Back at ya’ and big thank you to:

Melanie – thank you for the link. You are my hero! I have to tell you that this blog is the one that got the ball rolling for me. I have been a customer of yours for years and last Oct I checked out your blog, which lead me to Maryams, which led me to all the links on her blog, etc. So, a big thank you to your blog to get me started in Blog Land! It is SO funny that you two are now working together. I was thinking weeks ago that I should do a post on the two of you getting together for Peacock Pavillions – you beat me to the punch (post). Teach me to snooze. I CAN NOT wait to see what you gals come up with for a final project. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for being a spingboard for SO much creativity!

Thanks for sharing these blogs and kudos to you for having the links! So many blogs, so little time! ;-)

Oh my! It makes me feel so good when people say that I have “inspired” them to creative action. It’s not exactly like finding a solution for world peace, but its good to know when you have a POSITIVE influence in the world. Can’t ask for more than that. Thank you!!

No kidding about the number of blogs, Carol, I’m starting to get “blog anxiety” about all that I am “missing”, but it is so cool that people have this creative outlet to share their thoughts and lives.

So, here I am, in my daily blog route and I pull up one of my faves: Design Amour…and I’m thinking “Oh, cool — more blogs to check out!”. (As if I didn’t need to sleep, LOL!) And I almost spilled out my coffee when I saw my little blog get a “shout-out” on your gorgeous one. I think I even called my long-lost grandmother in Morocco!!!! (That little burst of blog traffic in the last few minutes was my family checking it out!) Thank you so much for the mention, Melanie. And yes you do affect the world in a positive way — your creativity allows and spurs all of us to reach a higher creative level in our own little parts of the world. Thanks, again!

I have enjoyed all of these blogs myself…it really is a way to almost “get lost” for a while just zooming around the world hopping from one blog to another, isn’t it?? No, I do NOT know how we did without it before!! lol
